It's been over a week since I released my latest visual novel, which I will admit was an April Fool's project. Considering what it was meant to be, I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out. For the most part, that project was finished ahead of time and I just had to play a bit of a waiting game for my planned release date. Because of that, I had plenty of time to outline my next project, which is sort of a combination of ideas I've had in the past. For a while, I was pretty on and off with the actual writing part but I eventually got super motivated and managed to finish writhing the script earlier today.
Since I'm finished writing, most of my attention is going to go toward the coding part. I don't really have much to share about the project right now but I can at least confirm that this is both the longest and saddest visual novel I've ever written. I am very confident in the game's plot and look forward to completing it. You can find more updates about what I'm working on via my social media accounts, Twitter being the one I use the most. While you wait, why not check out one of my other visual novels if you haven't. And if you haven't read through "My Loving Wife" yet, you should probably get around to that...

I know I've been super quiet about game development for a while but that's because I had nothing I could really announce. The last half of last year, while I did have ideas, I wasn't actively working on stuff. More of my time went toward my YouTube channel or web novels I decided to work on. I've slowly been writing down my plans for all kinds of things since the release of School For The Friendless, but not all of these will be seeing a release this year. I've got a couple of projects that I'm going to be focusing on at this point in time. Anyways, in my absence on pretty much any website I put my games up on, I've been working on something for a little while and now it's finally here.
This was an idea I had for a while now. It was just something that I thought would be fun to do, so I went with it. I was even able to shove some ideas from previously canceled projects in here. Enough wasting time. What is my latest visual novel about? Well, it's about you. At the beginning, you're given a few choices: you can pick your gender, you can choose your own name, and you can name your wife. This is the story of you and her. Every day you come home from work to see her and the two of you spend time together. You love her more than anything and hope that this time you spend with her will last forever. Overall, it likely won't be too hard to figure out how to get each ending. There are are only a few you can get. How you treat your wife in the game is up to you. You can either be a decent spouse or you can be a complete jerk. The latter of which I don't condone doing in real life. If you're going to piss people off on purpose, try to only do that to fictional characters. I didn't get as into making this as the previous visual novel, but I did have a good time writing and coding it. If you're interested in playing this, it's free to play. Payment is completely optional. If you do decide to pay for it, you'll get some extra files: a manual, the original script, and the first beta that was given to testers (the last of which being exclusive to Itch). You can check it out here. |
